This concert from 1989 might just be my favourite setlist from Air Supply. 1989 was a strange period for the band as they had not released a new group album since the 1987 Christmas collection. Russell had released his solo CD in late 1986...early 1987. Graham and Russell were releasing audio cassettes through the fan club with updates to ensure fans they had not split up. They were in the middle of a label change (search) which delayed the release of The Earth Is for several years. This period in time reminds me of what we are currently experiencing with Mumbo Jumbo.

This setlist is strong as it takes several songs from the unreleased Earth Is and it also gets good representation from the 1985 self titled album. Throw in some of the early hits and we have great variety. Russell was singing in his peak at this point making this show simply amazing to hear.

1. Power Of Love
2. Two Less Lonely People
3. Never Fade Away
4. Lost In Love
5. Sweet Dreams
6. Stronger Than The Night (AMAZING!)
7. Great Pioneer
8. The One That You Love
9. Here I Am
10. She's Got The Answer
11. All Out of Love
12. The Earth Is....
13. Dancing With The Mountain
14. Making Love
15. Stand Up (Needs to be released someday)
16. Late Again
17. My Best Friend

Band:
Ralph Cooper - Drums
Jimmy Haun - Guitar
Keyboards - David Young
Keyboards - Michael Sherwood
Bass - Larry Antonio

Of the live shows I have, this setlist from Tokyo, 1984 is my favorite. Highlighted in yellow, you got seven songs that at that point hadn't been released (four of which remain so), then you got the big hits, and the inclusion of a stunning I Can Wait Forever and the underplayed I'll Never Get Enough Of You, assuming it was played more in Asia having been a hit there. Great show.

The Way It's Meant To Be
Lost In Love
Even The Nights Are Better
You're Only In Love
Heart & Soul
Black & Blue

Here I Am
I'll Be The Cure For Your Lonliness
Labour Of Love

The One That You Love
I Can Wait Forever
All Out Of Love
Sweet Dreams
Innocent Eyes
This Heart Belongs To Me
I'll Never Get Enough Of You
Making Love Out Of Nothing At All

Mark,

I think that's one of the finest sets they ever put together.

that's right mark..¡ amazing that infinite high note he used to make at the end of that song.. I remember they played it here the first time they came to my country,(may 1989).. by the way.. it was the unique show ive ever heard and seen them to perform live ... love conquers time

Nice set list Mark. :) Tokyo in 1984 is also great, but I'd really like to hear Making love out of Nothing At all live in 1983 in a perfect pitch - not a playback.

DALVERCITO70, it's been a while and I noticed you type in small caps now.

His voice was very sharp with beautiful tune. I may listen to it many times without being bored.
